This intermediate acting class delves into the technique of Practical Aesthetics, a dynamic approach that emphasizes the actor's connection to the script and moment-to-moment authenticity. Students will explore the core elements of Practical Aesthetics, including script analysis using the literal, want, and essential action framework, and transformational work to hone their ability to live truthfully under imaginary circumstances. Through a series of exercises and scene work, participants will develop a clear, actionable understanding of how to break down scenes, make strong choices, and respond truthfully within a performance setting. Designed for those with foundational acting experience, this class aims to bridge theory and practice, allowing actors to refine their skills and develop a more nuanced and responsive performance style.
This class is designed for individuals who have completed Acting 1 and are eager to advance to the next level. Exceptions for prior training and age can be made following an interview with the instructor.
